1963 Martinez

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The cork was slightly loose which would explain why the wine was a little oxidised. Very dry on the palate, but mature and nicely spiced dried red and vine fruit. Lots of tobacco and cracked peppercorn on the aftertaste and red liquorice on the very long finish. It’s nice, but not great. 88/100. Drunk 24-Apr-22. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
