NV Andresen White 20YO (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at the Oval, watching Surrey play Warwickshire. Bottled 2021. Deep butterscotch colour, 30% opaque. Sweet caramel and orange on the nose, with a good density of aroma. Sweet and floral entry, the balance on the wine shows better on the mid palate where the sweetness and acidity merge together. Strong orange and apricot flavours build impressively. Some orange zest bitterness on the aftertaste quickly gives way to a Seville orange marmalade finish of wonderful length. Delicious Port for a summer’s day at the cricket. 91/100. Pop and pour. Drunk 27-Jul-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
