A South African fortified wine, made from the traditional Port grapes, matured in barrel for 25 years before being bottled.

Cavendish 1963, bottled 1988. Dark chestnut brown colour, opaque centre with a green rim. RĂ¢ncio and nuts on the nose. Intense acidity on the palate, full of molasses and pomelo zest. Big, rich and overt with a fabulous complex aftertaste and long finish. Really very good and better balanced than when first tried. 93/100. Drunk 23-Jun-22.
