NV Cruz Tawny 10YO (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at dinner at the AEVP, at the dinner following the (abandoned) barcos rabellos race.

Bottled 2022: burnished copper colour, 50% opaque. A little red toffee on the nose under a blanket of lemon marmalade. Smooth, sweet and honeyed entry. Honey and sweet orange mid-palate; generous acidity keeps the freshness. Fresh and acidic aftertaste of citrus. Lovely long finish of grapefruit oil and cinder toffee. A pleasant surprise. 83/100. Drunk 24-Jun-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
