NV Cyprus Ruby Sweet Port

To record tasting notes and thoughts on fortified wines we might try which do not come from the demarcated region of the Douro Valley

NV Cyprus Ruby Sweet Port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A very brown tone to the colour, 20% opaque. Milk chocolate on the nose, a little dirty. Nicely balanced entry but the mid-palate feels a little light. Mature and elderly, held together by the acidity. Gentle and lovely and on the decline. Served blind this was guessed to be Cockburn 1947. 88/100. Tasted at a "Bring a Bottle" tasting at the Boot & Flogger on 20-Jan-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
