The first bottle from an OWC of 12 purchased in 2021. The worst looking bottle - base of neck, with a slightly raised cork, but no obvious seepage. Cork removed relatively easily in one piece and clearly branded with all the appropriate information.

30% opaque and a light amber tone. A little spirity on the nose, but still some fruit - maybe orange, although not quite Sauternes orange, more dried. Also something a bit exotic - dates?

In the mouth, more balanced (although spirit definitely evident) and more development character. Licorice and mint. Very long.

Quite liked. Hopefully other, better looking, bottles are superior. Clearly not one for the long term, but not on a cliff-edge.

I’ve had varying results with this port the few times I’ve had it. Generally being more on the past best and drink soon side. And agree with you about the spirit.

Final glass at approximately +5 days (under Vac-U-Vin).

Spirit on nose still there, and now more dominant. There's something underneath it but difficult to determine what it is with the alcohol burn.

Palate is pretty much as before.

Conclusion remains as is, but with increased optimism for other bottles.
