Just wanted to record an incidence of exploding-cork-on-withdrawal syndrome on the above. The port has now been multiply decanted and awaits sampling later.

A deep red, 80 per cent opaque. Grapes and violets on the nose. Lovely lush mouthfeel. Palate, again, grapes and violets. The finish, with a hint of chocolate violet creams, is slightly shorter than perfection, but still jolly nice. This is lovely wine, possibly at peak in bottle format. Magnums will have 10-15 years, but personally I would start to broach soon.

A touch more cranberry on the palate. Drying out a bit. Finish still somewhat shorter than perfection. Nice port, but it was more exciting last night.
