1955 Adam

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at the Barão de Fladgate Restaurant in the Taylor's Lodge.

Mature red, younger in appearance than the previous Port (the G48). 50% opaque. Intense nose, dense with slightly baked red fruit. Dense fruit on the palate, rich red fruit with a little bitterness. Nicely elegant with a smooth texture and good ripe fruit. Soft grip on the aftertaste, very nicely balanced. A lovely wine with good depth. 93/100. Drunk 16-Oct-22. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
