1970 Croft

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From magnum. Opened at 20.45, decanted at 09.00 and drunk at 15.15.

Mid red colour, mature in tone; 60% opaque. A little cinnamon and mace on the nose, bringing extra interest to the red jelly baby scent. Jellied red fruit on the palate with generous spice, a little hot and lighter in body and palate presence than the S70 or T70 tasted alongside this wine. The finish brings lovey red fruit and aniseed with a good length. 89/100. Drunk 15-Sep-22. Decanted 6 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
