1992 Delaforce

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The last vintage made by Nick Delaforce before the company was sold.

Deep red colour, wide rim. Fresh green figs on a fragrant nose, lovely dark fruit. Black damsons on the palate, dry tannins hold a gentle grip. Youthful palate. Black chocolate, black damson on the aftertaste, some mint on the early finish, changing to a warm aniseed and menthol finish. 88/100. Drunk 15-Oct-22. Decanted 4½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
