Double decanted one hour
Lots of white pepper on nose. Lots. Exuberant violet fruit behind that. A bit thin on mouth entry then some blackcurrant pate de fruits. Then a little Taylor heat. Nice long finish gently fading away through cranberry and star anise to cinnamon-accented mulled wine.
This very good bottle makes me think the one we had at the Terra Feita tasting wasn't quite correct.

+22 hours.
90% opaque. Nose has calmed down to touriga-nacional-focussed quite cool violet-scented wine. Congruent, and very attractive palate. The Taylor heat has gone - which is a good thing. Blackcurrant pastilles on the finish.
Very enjoyable port, and even more my sort of thing than it was yesterday.
On the showing of this bottle, this is a port which needs a 24 hour decant, but is then as good as it is going to get. Which is slap in the 15-30 year drinking range for these Taylor SQVPs which we theorised after the Terra Feita tasting.
