1985 Gould Campbell

First bottle from a case of 12 purchased earlier this year.
Bottle visually perfect, although unable to confirm level as the glass was too dark. However, no seepage and a good cork, so suspect the level was well into neck. Only oddities was the (paper?) seal underneath the foil. This was quite difficult to remove and messily disintegrated. Lots of heavy sediment.
Maybe 40% opaque - possibly more faded than might be expected for an '85 - but very healthy looking. Pale red, almost salmon; no brown hint.
Nose is quite spirity, and difficult to pick out much else. Possibly some soft red fruit?
Much better balance in the mouth. Alcohol is in check, and there's still some nice soft tannin. No particular notes stand out, instead has a generic "pleasant mature vintage port" character. Medium length.
Quite nice; unlikely to improve much; not on a cliff edge; drink soonish, or not.
