Splendid evening, great company, and great port. It's been a while since I've been at a tasting with so many ports tasting so good - pretty much everything was on very good form. A few of us noted that some the '70s on show were showing signs of the fruit drying out a little. Thoughts to be given to when the 1970 mega-horizontal should happen. We were also regaled by Julian about his new business idea ;-)

S70 wins, but S70mag gets no votes other than an honorable mention? Were votes for the magnum not allowed, or was something else going on? That just seems very strange.

Also only one score for the F70, was it flawed?

Nope, was fine. I think this is the closest in quality tasting that I've been to.

S70 mag was slightly wrong. Not bad, but not quite right either. F70 was OK, and possibly not a great bottle. Overall standard was very high.
