1982 Quinta do Noval Nacional

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Ex-cellars, supplied by Christian Seely for the Los Angeles Nacional tasting.

A mature bronze colour, 20% opaque. Soft sweet quince on the nose, with a little redcurrant and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Nicely balanced elegant entry, generous acidity offsets the sweet cinnamon drop son the palate; there is some heat and some fragrant rose hip. Tobacco and cedar infuse the quince fruit on the aftertaste and caramel on the finish. Fully mature and drinking pleasantly, this is in a slow decline and lacks complexity. 88/100.
Tasted 30-Oct-22. Decanted 3 hours.
