1991 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Graham 1991, decanted 2.5 hours ago. Dark rose red colour with a very wide rim. Sweet bramble and sweet rose perfume on the nose. Wonderfully well balanced on the palate; bramble fruit with a touch of tannins and perfect acidity to highlight the sweetness of the fruit. A hint of black liquorice in the fruit. Lovely dry edges to the bramble on the aftertaste, and a finish dominated by the liquorice and aniseed. Not the powerhouse that the Fladgate Partnership Ports are from 1992, but a thoroughly delicious and satisfying drink. A wine to be savoured and shared with friends.  90/100. 26-Jan-23. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
