Ruby Port Tasting - Date TBC - B&F

Is what it says above.

You can bring a port you already have but it must be, or have been, available at retail (not necessarily in the UK) in 2023 for the equivalent of £16 or less.

When you sign up, say what you are going to bring. We will do this single blind (so tasting sheets numbered 1-14 with the names being revealed later).

Who's in?

1. winesecretary - Quinta do Mourao 'S. Leonardo' Ruby Port
2. forest26 - Burmester Ruby
3. jdaw1 - Graham 2015 LBV
4. nac - TBC
5. JacobH - Noval Black
6. Akzy - Quevedo 2017 LBV
7. Flash
8. Hadge

I have a lake† of consistently excellent Graham 2015 ʟʙᴠ.

† A very small lake. But enough to be swum in by a sufficiently small creature.

Ah. I have just realised that the parameters of this tasting prevent us from using this event as the basis for the Six Grapes tasting (the special edition versions cost £40+).

Yes please. I’m sure I have something suitable. Will check…

Is it planned for this to be a separate event from the Six Grapes one? I’d be keen for this in any event. I think a Noval Black is the only Ruby currently in my possession but can get something else without too much difficulty.

@Julian - I think a decent sized rat could do breast stroke in your Graham's LBV 2015 lake

@ Alex - yes £40 is much too rich for us ordinary folk, and the wines too rare.

@ Jacob - yes separate. The idea is to taste blind the things one can buy in the shops, which has wider value than just this community

Yes please. I can spot Quevedo LBV 2017 or Graham's crusted 2013 that both fit this bill - or both.

I'll bring Fonseca "Waterloo Edition" Finest Reserve (which I've never tried, but I suspect will be quite nice) and Fletcher's Fine Ruby (which I have previously tried and am glad of an opportunity to be rid of my last bottle).
