1986 Warre Cavadinha

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

WC86, decanted 1 day. A dark rose red, looking to be in the early phases of maturity. 90% opaque. A wonderful nose, raspberry sherbet, so full of life! Smooth texture on the palate, soft and gentle bramble and raspberry with just a hint of tannin. Still some youthful vigour in the fruit on the palate, delicious. The vigour and joie de vivre comes through on the aftertaste and long, long raspberry sherbet finish. A fabulous choice of Port to impress a visitor who wants to learn what a mature Vintage Port can offer. 91/100.

Tasted at the Warre Cavadinha Vertical on 28th March 2023.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
