In an otherwise port-free country I spotted this BT (small) G at Amankora Paro in Bhutan. Bottle had been open a while I surmise.

Lots of prune and star anise on the nose. Both elements carry through to the palate. Fruit cake on the finish. Still some tannins although fully integrated.

Surprisingly good with some local Emmenthal.

I think I would have got this as Smith Woodhouse from the 1990s blind, although I might have though it was a bottle of the 1994 vintage that had been left open for a bit.

Fully ready but in no teriffic hurry.

Consumed 6 April 2023.
