2006 Graham Single Harvest Tawny (bottled 2020)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Graham Single Harvest Tawny 2006. Bottled in 2020 specifically for the Graham’s 200th Anniversary Cabinet. Russet red colour, 50% opaque. An amazing nose of dust. It takes a lot of swirling to coax out a little orange caramel and marmalade out of the glass. A lovely thick and weighty texture, almost like an ooze of golden syrup spreads gently across the palate, cinder toffee and powerful orange acidity, with hints of grapefruit oil. The aftertaste is warmed by cloves immersed in golden syrup, and is a good length. With a lovely thick texture and powerful acidity, this is a worthy inclusion in the family of Graham Single Harvest Tawnies. Pop and pour. 91/100. 25-Apr-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
