If anybody is at a loose end on the 18th then some help would be really great setting up the event.

Alex and I will be there but it would be great if we had an extra pair of willing hands to help so if you can help please let me know.

Pretty please..

..may I provide the Fonseca?

My computer has ordered me to drink an F63 this month and it seems an offence against nature to do so on my own, at home..

Forum lurkers out there please note: I am struggling to consume my quota of veteran bottles each year - please step forward and provide excuses!

Regret I am going to have to pull out of this one, as I'm wanted in China..

While you are sitting down to enjoy fine VP, I will be having my first experience of flying with Virgin, probably somewhere over India, given that Russia is off limits..

..no idea what port they have on board!

Apologies, but have a family event clash and will also have to withdraw from this.

Sorry

I have waited until now in the vain hope that circumstances might change. However, that is now not going to happen and therefore, childcare responsibilities driven by family matters means that I will have to very reluctantly withdraw from this tasting. Apologies to all.

I propose to double decant the 1963 Croft in the morning and bring it along with me tomorrow evening.

Really looking forward to this. I love horizontals. I've done 1997, 1994 (twice), 1992, 1991, 1985, 1983, 1980 with this group. It has informed both my drinking and my buying.

Hmm, maybe we should do a 'core' 1970 tasting (Cr, Ck, D, G, GB, GC, Mz, N, Ni, QH, S, SW, T, W) sometime sooner in addition to the big '70 at 55'... for discussion.

Possibly have another look at 1977 soon too.

Probably wait to 2025 for the 2000 tasting.

I plan also to double decant tomorrow morning and bring these with me in the evening.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I have double decanted the Croft 1963. To my mind this bottle is somewhat elderly albeit this is a fading port anyway. It’s the only one I have left. Faute de mieux, I’ll bring it, but if anyone else has a Croft 1963 immediately to hand, and could bring it along tonight as a substitute, I’d happily pay them for it in cash tonight.
