Opened at 06.15, decanted at 13.15, tasted at 19.45.

A deep red colour, surprisingly young-looking (70% opaque!) compared to the other 1970 Vintage Ports being consumed at the Port Forum dinner. Youthful cranberry and redcurrant on the nose. Sweet fruit flows onto the palate with the first sip; round, ripe and delivering a huge mouthful of vibrant fruit. Stunningly juicy fruit! The fresh red fruit wraps itself around the tongue and stays stubbornly attached only allowing the merest glimpses of the tannins which are still in the wine. What a fabulous bottle of this Port! My joint wine of the night. 95/100. Tasted 24-Apr-23.

GC70. Glorious red, 50% opaque. Heat and white pepper. But heat too prominent — good, not great.

70% opacity, dark red. Deep rich fruit on the nose. Ful mouthfeel, pepper, damson.
