UK bottled, possibly by Avery. The darkest of the wines in the lunch-time flight; deep red and about 60% opaque. Fabulous on the nose, full of spiced redcurrant jelly. Superb on the palate, rich in sweet and ripe fruit - bramble and black cherry - with a wonderful depth of flavour, making for a mouthful of wine which is rich and delicious. Gentle tannins on the aftertaste, full of sweet dried cherry. Fantastic Port; my wine of the lunch.
94/100. Tasted 13-Jun-23. Decanted 13½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
