Cliff decided that we needed a Celebration of 1955, and volunteered many many bottles. Harry organised. Others were grateful. It started at lunchtime, on Tuesday 13th June 2023, at the Boot & Flogger.
A mature copper red colour, 40% opaque. A little freshly cut red apple on the nose, together with a bit of tobacco. A nice balance on the palate, carrying soft caramel blended with a little orange Not a lot of complexity on the mid-weight palate but the wine has a nice freshness. The aftertaste is delicious, full of chocolate orange and later orange zest all of which work together to produce a stunning finish. 88/100. Tasted 13-Jun-23. Decanted 14 hours.
