Marmalade rimmed, orange-red wine. Restrained nose of oranges and star anise with a bit of coffee. Sweet entry, milk chocolate, fully resolved. Pleasant but not really 'port'.

Cork branded Carvalhas 1963. Adams is a brand name used by Royal Oporto for the UK market in the '50s and '60s.

Double decanted for 10 hours. A mature copper-orange colour, 20% opaque. Subdued on the nose, showing a little candied citrus fruit. Fragrant on the palate, sweet - slightly honeyed - fruit, perhaps a little lime. The mid-palate develops nicely in volume but is a little one-dimensional. A gentle aftertaste and finish of sticky honey and lemon. A lovely Port, albeit rather straightforward. 85/100. Decanted 10 hours.
