1965 Graham Malvedos

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Initially quite pale when decanted but put on colour and depth in the decanter. Now a lovely bronze red colour, 60% opaque. Dried orange zest and honey on the nose. Honeyed palate, blood orange and a mass of heat on the mid-palate, very hot! Blackcurrant cold lozenges on the aftertaste, cinder toffee and treacle finish. Pleasant and enjoyable but coming across as quite elderly. 88/100. Drunk 03-Mar-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
