I have other commitments now for this date so am unable to step up from the reserves. I hope that it is even better than the last time these lovely wines were tasted together. Enjoy!

Given formal confirmation has been received that the truffle Mac and cheese has been removed from the menu, I will have Welsh Rarebit, followed by steak (m-r) and fries with green beans and the brownie for dessert.
Thanks

Gent's

Heres the food order as it stands

Food Order

Tony & Charles - your starter does not exist !! - let me know what to change it to

B&F menu

I've also taken the liberty of tweaking peoples default order to reflect the menu change where they have made a change here

Please shout if this is wrong - if not this is what you will get on the 6th :-)

@mcoulson - jolly good, I’ll open the 1994 when I get back to the UK on Saturday, since you have gone for the 1992.

Your are right that there are no bargains any more in that supermarket on the Estrada Monumental. There was an M E Fernandes Verdelho with no price on it. It’s a nice wine I’ve had many times and is worth every penny of £150. Their price, on checking… 1015 euros.

Is there a specific decant time/method to be used for V05 - this tasting will be the first time I’ve tried it so I’d appreciate any thoughts from others who may have already tried some.

I haven't had V05 in many years, but my experience with it says that a somewhat shorter decant should work fine. It's a somewhat softer Port than the '03 or '07 but still very delicious. I would probably decant it 4-6 hours, but as I recall you guys tend to use shorter decants in London than we do in Seattle so perhaps 2-3 hours would work there?

Thanks, Glenn. I’ll go with the lower end of the range in re decant time (I suspect a less than desirable outcome will result should I attempt decanting on a Pendolino).
