1963 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Graham 1963, Oporto bottled. Opened and decanted at 18.00. Drunk at 22.00. Mature rose red colour, 50% opaque. Warm spiced cherry compote on the nose, a little mint from the spirit. Elegant palate, mature and rather evolved with sweet, dried fruit. Some slightly bitter liquorice root and cranberry, the wine showing excellent complexity. Warm aniseed and cranberry aftertaste leads to a long aniseed finish. Lively and spicy, this is a fully mature and deliciously elegant sweet and rounded Port. 92/100. Drunk 20-Oct-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
