It is always impressive to be served a wine of this age: very deep and flat brown with no reflections at all, but a good concentration. The nose is extremely sweet with hints of malt, caramel and coffee. The mouth is very similar to the bouquet. Nice aftertaste.

Athough still pleasant I think that this wine had better days. NR

P.S.: All Colheitas were bottled shortly before the tasting

Did it have the weak wateriness of a very old Port, or had it just gone a bit Tawny?

Conky,

it wasnt weak or watery. It was more, well - old (which is not bad in itself). But it appeared to have had better times before.

(Well I should have paid attention in the english class instead of manufacturing paper mache willies to frighten...)

More like a dumb note.
