Red to the rim. Too many tannins for great pleasure now. Long finish.

G03, dark dark red, 80% opaque. Big and sumptuous, spice mid palate, lots of dark fruit especially blackberries. Liked.

Graham 2003. The youngest of the wines at this Graham vertical, but still 21 years old. A mature rose red colour with a medium rim. Bright fruit on the nose, bramble with some soapy redcurrant. Gentle tannins sit in the bramble fruit giving a great balance to a big, rich mouthful of wine. The balance is lovely with no sign of the jamminess sometimes found in the 2003 vintage — just sweet, ripe and nicely balanced chocolate and bramble with a lovely persistence. 92/100. Tasted 14-May-2024.

G03. Medium dark red with some garnet. Good fruit on the nose, but difficult to separate. Rich and full in the mouth with strong tannins and good fruit. Might still be coming out of a teenage funk, but even so has nice balance. Needs another 10 years to soar. 95 points.
