A full rich red but minimal opacity. White spice on nose. Warm cherry palate. Orange finish. Nice port.

Nice savoury note on nose. Lots of delicious fruit on palate.
Liked this and gave 1/2 a point.

BBR77, glorious red, 4% opaque. Nose had cigarette smoke. First attempt: soft, mature, dry, really lovely. Later, still liked.

50% opacity, mature red.
Dusty red cranberries on the nose.
Soft and smooth, chewy cranberries, gentle heat. Nice, and worthy of an HM.

Nose: Red cherries and eucalyptus with a touch of caramel
Palate: soft red cherries to start with a little eucalyptus, but then a powerful wave of medicinal tones that breaks to a gorgeous marzipan, cherry Bakewell finish that lingers. V good
(I think I gave this an honourable mention, or I should have)

1977 Berry’s Own Selection (Quarles Harris): Pleasing mature rose red; 30% opaque. Lovely berry nose, hints of green leaf, quite bright. Medium bodied, rich and bright berry fruit. A nice youthful palate, full of dark cherries and hints of chocolate with a lovely raspberry jam aftertaste. A touch of tannins on the aftertaste, long and slightly sticky finish. Really rather nice. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
