Opened and double decanted at 1000 on the morning of the tasting. QA sample all fine, no TCA.

Watery rim. Nice, not over-emphasised, nose. Strawberry jam on palate. Good example of a lighter less extracted port.

Quite pale. Light nose. Palate better, but a touch medicinal.

Fr77, red-pink, 25% opaque. Light; some alcohol; flabby.

45% opacity, mature red-orange.
Soft entry, slightly metallic palate, chewy strawberries and cherries.
This was my bottle, which tasted better at time of decant. Perhaps Fr77 is now a candidate for pop and pour.

Nose: red fruits. Not punchy.
Palate: red cherries and quite a lot of tannic grip. Some tangerine acidity developed later. A bit simple compared to its peers. Got better in the glass later on. Ok to good.

1977 Ferreira: Light rose red colour, 30% opaque. Some sweet, slightly flabby fruit on the nose. Better balance on entry with Strawberry fruit and good acidity; tannins on the mid-palate are gentle. A little tobacco sits in the fruit on the late patate. There is a pleasant grip on the aftertaste, within the sweet redcurrant. A fantastic lingering finish. 87/100. Tasted 11-Jun-2024. Decanted 9 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
