A pale limpid red. Nose with a little cherry. Palate of cherry. Nice cherry and cranberry finish. Worthy of an HM.

Nose not 100% right. Palate better, but wasn't keen on this.

S77, red-link, 30% opaque. Bitter, with oranges. Nonetheless good soft mature Port.

45% mature red-orange.
Soft red fruits and caramel on the nose.
Soft, sweet entry, chewy strawberries (drying), soft caramels, long chewy finish. Liked, gets an HM.

Nose: strawberries, and subtle ones. Maybe a touch of caramel or milk chocolate?
Palate: leads with the strawberries and plenty of caramel, followed by eucalyptus and maybe a touch of dark chocolate on the mid palate. Lovely orange acidity and cherries to finish. Tart to almost sour. V good.

1977 Sandeman: Rich brick red, a lovely tawny colour. A litte dirty fruit on the nose. Smooth palate with nice fruit that is walking the line betreen tired primary fruit and spiced secondary flavours. The palate has good acidity and is enjoyably light, holding some sweet bruised fruit. Really sweet and ripe, with lots of brown sugar on the finish. Smooth, mature and solidly on its plateau. Tasty. 89/100. Drunk 11-Jun-2024.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
