I did not know that Fonseca released a Single Quinta in the same year as their excellent 1977 Fonseca VP. That has to be a pretty rare bottle. It will be interesting to see how it stands up to the Fonseca VP as well as the other VP's.

Clear as a bell. Orange at rim. Pretty light. Hint of turpentine on the nose. Palate a bit thin.

All of the above said, if it was the only port you had open, you'd drink it!

A savoury hint on the nose (which was OK), and a better palate. Liked this & thought it was similar to the BBR. 1/2 a point on the night.

FP77, red-orange, 15% opaque. Soft, some heat, gentle oranges, light, heat dominant. Harmless.

50% opacity, mature red, very clear.
Wonderful nose, very complex, melon, strawberry, vanilla...
Softand smooth, melon, strawberry, vanilla, fresh. Finish not quite there. Fine port! And a point from me.

Nose: medicinal red cherries.
Palate: cola on entry, loads of spice. Luxuriant. Sweet chocolate later. Long finish. Lovely stuff. V good.

1977 Fonseca Panascal. Rose red colour, 40% opaque. Pleasant simple sweet fruit on the nose, with a little crushed nettle overtone. Sweet fruit on the palate, elegant with a lovely red jelly simplicity. Gentle tannins lurk in the fruit, but the fruit dominates. Simple red jelly aftertaste; very gentle tannins on the long finish. Very pleasant.  87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
