A dark garnet still. Pale rim. Nice dark cherry fruit. Lovely finish. Comfortably WOTN.

Good colour. Nose fairly open. Well developed palate, but with plenty of fruit still. My WOTN with 3pts.

T77, red, 40% opaque. Big; best; great structure; sweetness and grip. My highest scoring Port with 2½ points; six people, not wrongly, gave it 3.

Full rich mouthfeel, great structure and balance. Chewy blackberries.
My WOTN with 3 points.

Nose: Mute. A touch of red fruit.
Palette: anything but mute! Plenty of red fruits to start - redcurrants and mascharino cherries. Luxurious on the mid palate. Cola?! Lovely finish with spice kicking in late on. Such a long finish. I think I like this, maybe quite a lot... Excellent and my WOTN.

1977 Taylor. Mature rose red colour, 30% opaque. Restrained nose of sweet rose hip, nicely savoury. Sweet but a little simple on impact - but a wine which blossoms beautifally. Red liquorice and aniseed, spicy and nicely balanced. Mature but quite forceful. A little warmth on the aftertaste, spearmint and aniseed. A wonderful mature and beautifully balanced Port. Fabulous, so much change and development as you drink it! 94/100. Opened and decanted at 18.00, returned to the bottle at 22.00 and Vacu-Vined until poured and tasted at 16.35.
