Very pleasant port, but in this fairly exalted company not wildly exciting.

Nose muted but pleasant. Palate much better though and like this a lot. Gave it 1pt.

Cr77, glorious red, 40% opaque. Thin; bitter. Just no.

50% opacity, cloudy red-brown.
Nose a little dirty, with bacon.
Flabby, red fruit and bacon!

Nose: relatively subdued. A little fruit.
Palate: luscious fruits, led by dark fleshy cherries. Caramel, a touch of cola and black pepper, followed by an orange citrus backbone. Cola dominates into the finish. Excellent (1pt on the night from me).

Croft 1977. Rose red, 40% opaque but slightly cloudy. Very limited nose, showing hardly anything. Attractive acidity on the palate, rather dominating the fruit. The palate has all the ingredients needed to deliver a good Port - but not in right proportions. Impressive lingering fruit finish. Perhaps another example of a 1977 which is closing down? 87/100. Double decanted 7 hours.
