Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Pale. Nice strawberry palate. Decent cooking port.

Nose not quite right but a (just) better palate. Lots of tannin. Quite nice.

40% opacity, paling red-orange.
Fresh nose, faint citrus notes.
Fading, and a little one-dimensional, albeit still some structure from the acidity.

Nose: relatively dull on the nose.
Palate: red fruits, a little dulled. A touch of caramel. Shortish finish compared to it's company, and quite simple. Not bad but not great either.

Morgan 1977: Pale bunt ochre colour, 20% opaque. Rather dirty on the nose, with sweet died red fruit under the dirt. Sweet, very light-bodied at first but with a lovely intensity on the mid-palate. Redcurrant, a little cranberry and a hint of sweetness. but the dirt comes back on the aftertaste. Lingering, with the fruit a little candied but with good length. Pleasant Port. 87/100. Opened at 09.00, decanted at 11.00 and tasted at 16.30.
