A quick QC check shows a lovely red cherry nose with a little spice and a touch of eucalyptus. Palate is lovely too even though this clearly needs decanting time - lovely red fruits followed by spice and pepper in the mid palate and a soft milk chocolate finish carrying the fruit through. Some tannic grip adding dryness but not a huge amount.

Similar nose, maybe leaning heavier into the strawberries. This is now very enjoyable - the palate is luxurious and full of milk chocolate. Cherry liqueur is present as is caramel. Some minerality in the finish. A beautiful sweet orange acidity cuts through, and brings the wine together. Very good indeed.

Oh wow! On the nose there's jellied sweets - cherries and strawberries - and perfume. A touch of eucalyptus too. Luxurious on entry with sweet, ripe black cherries and caramel that leads into aniseed and peppery spice. That's backed up by milk chocolate and some drying tannins - subtle, and they provide a backbone, which also has plenty of orange acidity. Liquorice and cherries come late and linger into the finish. This is rather delightful!

On a side note I'm pairing this with a block of 85% dark chocolate it's going down well.

I recently acquired a 2005 Vargellas. Hoping it shows as well.
