From an ullaged bottle with a dropped cork and a fill below low shoulder. On inspection of the cork, it was clearly attacked by woodworm at some point in its history.
An attractive deep orange colour, 30% opaque - very similar in appearance to a 10YO White Port! A little oxidised on the nose, offering some soft tropical fruit. Orange on the palate, very light and with a hint of menthol under the delicate mandarin fruit. The mandarin dominates the aftertaste and gives a persistent and enjoyable finish. Although this wine is nothing like you would expect a mature Vintage Port to be, it has turned into an attractive and delicate colheita which gives enjoyable drinking. 87/100. Tasted 19-Aug-2024.
