1963 Offley

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From magnum. Mature ochre-red colour, 50% opaque. A lovely nose of mature, but softly spiced fruit; a little limited but very nice. A bit light on the palate, but the flavours are mature and wonderfully balanced. This is a wine which is clearly evolved, showing some lovely golden sultanas and clementine oil. The clementine oil shows on the finish and persists with good length. The wine has a lovely texture, gentle dry tannins and an elegant finish. This is a really enjoyable fully mature VP. 89/100. Tasted 12-Aug-20. Decanted 3 hours.

Tasted at the mid-COVID re-opening of the Boot & Flogger.
