Emergency Offline Monday 2nd September

Post by Christopher »

Wondered if anyone fancied Port and dinner on Monday night. At the B&F but actually pretty flexible, kick off around 6.30

Edits:

Location has become Hawksmoor Air Street.

People:
  1. CMAG;
  2. AHB;
  3. JDAW;
  4. MSC.

Current draft of the placemats.

I might be able to. Leave it with me a few hours.

But perhaps Hawksmoor would be a good venue - £5 corkage on a Monday and they don't start getting twitchy to go home at 9pm...
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

I’m considering bringing a bottle of red wine rather than a bottle of Port, but haven’t completely decided yet…

One SQVP, or two vintage? The VPs much more unusual, but likely quite junior.

Blind or sighted?

I like unusual. It’s Christopher’s event, but I vote for one VP (two if you really insist) and blind.

I’m almost certain that I’ll bring a red wine.

By WhatsApp Christopher has replied “Sighted”.

I believe this rejects the excellent SQVP, in favour of two (one wasn’t offered) VPs about which I am less optimistic. OK.

I will bring blind: Christopher might, and might not, command that they can be immediately unblinded.

Edit: circa 21:30, the two VPs opened: that’s what you’re getting. Will be decanted tomorrow morning.

Just asking the obvious - is anyone able to print the placemats?

I’ll be in London - around St James / Mayfair - from about 14.30. I have a few errands to run but will probably end up working either in the Oxford & Cambridge or in 67 Pall Mall from about 16.00.

I’ll be happy to meet up early if anyone is free.
