Day 1 - popped and poured.
Nose fairly ungiving, some high quality sultana.
Palate immediately rich but not especially sweet and impression is quite impressively dry mid-late. Confit orange (not marmalade) on the finish.
Promising

I had one of these this past September and it drank beautifully. I hope you enjoy it, George.

@ Mike J.W. - generally my favourite 40 yo I think. This is my first try of the 2022 release though.
Day 2 - A little rancio on the nose but it’s hard to get beyond the sultana. Maybe a bit of pruneaux fourre d’agen.
Glossy glycerol mouthfeel, rich entry, hint of Turkish delight briefly, then we’re back to the crème brûlée with the macerated apricots on the side.
Nicely balanced and almost dry on the finish.
This is pretty successful.
If I may say so, it also goes very well with the superb ‘Decoration Day’ of Sunnyland Slim.

Day 3 - sultana is fading, prune and Armagnac ice cream nose now predominating, hint of macadamia nut. Entry also has the macadamia nut, very sweet indeed, as is mid palate which is congruent to nose (prunes, Armagnac) before you get to the finish which is increasingly marmalade.
