NV Dickens Fine Old Ruby

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

NV Dickens Fine Old Ruby, bottled for Dickens Wine House of York, under screw cap! Before being transported to Newport this was a pale amber colour with a tiny amount of fine sediment on the base of the bottle. Once transported by foot, train, tube, train, bus and taxi this was the colour and consistency of mud. Surprisingly attractive nose, a little lemon and a little toffee. Toffee finish, very light but lingering. Just like a rather nice Portuguese-style 20YO. 85/100. 1 hour. Drunk on 12-Dec-2024 at the 2024 Port Forum Christmas Tasting of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
