1948 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature rose red colour, 30% opaque. Fruit on the nose, mature and wonderfully expressive. Gloriously youthful fruit on nose and palate, yet with a little secondary spice added to it. The palate is incredible, huge amounts of violet infused fruit. The fruit lasts and lasts, just so youthful. 97/100. The cork clearly identifies the wine as Taylor 19.. and best interpretations suggest T48. Drunk on 12-Dec-2024 at the 2024 Port Forum Christmas Tasting of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Very dark indeed. Lots of cherry and almond bakewell. Wonderful port.
