1945 Delaforce

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Wine 10, Delaforce 1945. Mature and sweet spiced fruit on the nose. Expressive and delightful. Just as wonderful on the palate, spiced fruit. Beautiful. So expressive, so delicious. A wine which could be drunk with enormous pleasure. 94/100. Sadly, the wine peaked soon after being tasted and, an hour after the tasting note, was starting to show more acidity and alcohol and less fruit than before. Drunk on 12-Dec-2024 at the 2024 Port Forum Christmas Tasting of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Sweet fruit developed nicely on the palate for a few minutes and then started a slow decline. But still pleasant enough. Guessed to be Fonseca 1927 or 1945.
