Wine 12, H&H bar steward 1927, bottled in 2021. Huge on the nose, overwhelming the memory of the 11 Ports tasted before this bottle. Vinagrinho on the nose, marmite and sea foam. Huge acidity on the palate, saline, iodine and massively amounts of marmite. Long and lingering marmite finish. What an absolutely astonishing wine. Thank you, George! 98/100. Drunk on 12-Dec-2024 at the
2024 Port Forum Christmas Tasting of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends.

Bottled 2021.
A deep dark burgundy.
Massive weight of rancio and fruit on the nose.
Preposterous weight of fruit on the palate.
Tremendous drying finish, in the minutes.
I have drunk older madeiras and (certainly at current prices) more expensive madeiras but this is probably the best madeira I have ever drunk. It is also the first wine I have ever drunk where I am quite certain that it will be going strong 100 years after I am dead - even if I live another fifty years.
