As organised by George G., on Monday 10th February 2025, Some of the usual folks gathered in the Boot & Flogger, for a horizontal of 2000s.

Woe betide! What has become of us‽ A horizontal of Port from this century. Yes yes, the world has other disasters afoot, but this disaster is afoot here: what has become of us‽

W00. Dark dark red, 95% opaque. Big, white-pepper spice, heat mid-palate, big fruit throughout. But this will be better in a decade: wait!

Very dark. Wonderful rich figgy port.

W00: The darkest of the wines being tasted at this 2000 horizontal. An unexpected nose, a little dirtiness to the fruit on the nose. Lovely fruit on the palate, much better than on the nose. A wine which builds up beautifully. Lingering and fragrant. Lovely, slightly sticky. 91/100.
