As organised by George G., on Monday 10th February 2025, Some of the usual folks gathered in the Boot & Flogger, for a horizontal of 2000s.

Woe betide! What has become of us‽ A horizontal of Port from this century. Yes yes, the world has other disasters afoot, but this disaster is afoot here: what has become of us‽

Cork shattered. How are the cork manufacturers not ashamed?

Pt00. Portal, a rarely seen shipper, of which I (= JDAW) have recently had delivered four different releases. red, 60% opaque. Black fruit, a touch of imperfect bitterness, reasonable size and presence. Slightly dry throughout. Good drinking, ready for drinking. And I have a plan!

I really quite liked this, it was just plan nice to drink - I do not have the words or imagination to describe it in flowing words but it got points from me on the evening - I'd not be disappointed if I had bottles of this

Deep and dark. Cherry pie quality that is very attractive. Ready to drink, and well worth seeking out.

Pt00: Mature in tone, 80% opaque. Sour berry fuit nose, perfumed. Light bodied entry, soft fuit with gentle tannins. The fruit is nicely ripened and holds beautifully on the palate, aftertaste and long finish. A very pleasant surprise, 89/100.
