From 90ml
A full deep mahogany, shining in the light. Pale green rim.
Nose of rancio, fig, date, nut, dry tokay. It’s all gone a bit Szazmorodni.
Palate starts rather sweeter than the nose would suggest but dried out quickly through star anise to a dried orange and Cuban cigar ash finish. Pushed, I would say it could be top class Honduran, but my assessment would be a well- matured Cuban. Hoyo de Monterrey from the late 1990s?
It sidetracked me rather interestingly (to me). Also rather good port, but not in the usual vernacular.
