An emergency was declared for Monday 14th April 2025, at the Boot & Flogger.

A 1977 was proffered, so another was, so another was, and the planning attracted towards an evening of 1977s. This is good.

Some admirable ports here, the majority of which were a pleasure to drink now , with some (Taylor, Warre, Fonseca, Niepoort) being absolutely delicious and worthy of gracing any table. The Wine Society Crusted bottled 2013 showed very well in its august company.

Is there a score sheet that can be published for this tasting?

@ Mike J.W. - from memory, Fonseca 1st, Warre 2nd, Taylor 3rd, Niepoort 4th, then a gap to the next scored bottle. I don’t have the score sheet.

Thanks very much, George, I appreciate that. I'm not surprised that the Fonseca came in first, but I am a little surprised that the Warre's showed better than the Taylor's. I've not had the Niepoort yet although I have a bottle that I'm saving for a 50 year-old tasting in 2027 (god willing). Cheers.
