15 minute decant

90% opaque

Nose suggests power and tannin with some damson and chocolate. Little bit of poached pear with swirling.

Thick, really thick, texture and a rich palate with tobacco chocolate stewed plum and an interesting hint of vanilla.

This is big port. Young yet. I very much like it.

Darkened a little. Beguiling nose- has lost the pear but gained a little blueberry. Palate lush but not so sweet as summer pudding, more a high class compote of it’s ingredients. Tannins receded a bit to a nice hint of crisp red apple from the organic fruit stand. Really pleasurable

This bottle probably now at peak, given congruence between nose palate and finish. Suggests wine will be at best 5-10 years hence.
